Dolls
By David Vorhees
They surround me at night
Always moving out of sight
Always watching me wherever I go
Following me ever so slow
I see them at every turn
I want to light a match and watch them burn
In my dreams they attack
They warn me to leave and never come back
If I stay their only goal
To end my life and eat my soul.
So, I ran away as far and as fast as I could
Years later I still keep vigilant watch in my neighborhood
Even though they steer clear of my
sight
I feel their presence in the night
I swear I see the glow of their eyes
Dancing in the night like fireflies
With every nightmare my heart beats hard in my chest
I know they won’t stop till my dying breath.
